High-quality production of low-carbon SCMs
In recent years, the cement industry in the United States has shown a growing interest in high-quality blended cements and clinker substitutes, also known as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). These materials, such as natural or artificial pozzolan, coal ash or slag of various types, require special attention during the final grinding process.
Challenges and solutions
Processing SCMs or introducing previously processed SCMs involves new operating or maintenance conditions, due to their higher humidity and/or abrasiveness, as well as their different granulometry and/or grindability.
