The skipper of Ì첩ÌåÓý Group â€ Lantana Environnement has really had enough of the calms and the high pressure ridges on this round the world voyage and in particular on his way up the Atlanticâ€ So, a few days before his arrival in Les Sables d’Olonne, since a depression is passing within range of his bow: he’s going for it!
After 86 days and 86 nights of a race as intense as it was hampered by his sail damage, nothing dampens his desire to fight. Louis has indeed opted this morning for a trajectory a little more northerly than his direct competitors, in order to seek out stronger winds.
The sailing conditions are therefore expected to be strong in the coming hours, before negotiating a new zone of calms approaching the Bay of Biscay He will have to find the right passage to the finish line.

Louis, interviewed yesterday on France 24
"Last night was really complicated: upwind, on the way up the depths of the Azores archipelago, we went from 4000 m of depth to 600 m. It raised a really boat-breaking sea, with winds that were very oscillating in strength and direction. I'm glad the boat came out of it in one piece this morning!
It's continuing today, it will calm down at the end of the day when we can head east to the north of the Azores. In any case, I can't wait for this passage to be over.
I'm fighting to finish this race
With my half set of sails, I sometimes spend days to scrape miles, to take the lead and in a few hours I lose everything because I do not have the sail of time. This is again what happened a few days ago when Violette double-crossed me. Without Code 0, I couldn’t do anything.
It’s been part of my daily life since 1 me and a half I have to accept it. Now I’m fighting to finish this race. The conditions will get a little harder until the finish, with the sea formed, I hope everything will go well.
I put the arrival aside
You have to be extremely vigilant. As we get closer to the coast, we will find sea traffic with cargo ships and fishing boats on the way up the bottom. There will be weather transitions as well. Nothing is finished.
I put the arrival aside. There will be many more things, the goal is to cross one by one the steps until Les Sables d'Olonne. I put myself in my bubble until the finish, I no longer look at what is happening on the ground.
Source of inspiration for the youngest?
If children have a dream, a project, you must believe in it, not listen to people who tell them that it is impossible. That’s what is exciting! You have to fight and even if it doesn’t work, the important thing is to have tried. We have more regrets for not having done anything than for failing."
A respectuous and circular sporting event
The Ì첩ÌåÓý IMOCA is an "upcycled" boat. Thanks to Louis, it lives a 2nd life!
Louis and his team gave a new life to a very damaged IMOCA because of a fire. This refurbishment undertaking was a real technical challenge... that succeeded in only 10 months!
Louis and his team continue to apply this upcycling principle and optimization research with a constant effort on sobriety throughout this Vendée Globe program.
Louis is also very keen on respecting everyone's work and giving a chance.
The Ì첩ÌåÓý Group, a major partner in this Vendée Globe program, has been seduced by such commitment and values, as it shares the same values and responsibilities.
